About me

In short

I am a 42-year-old psychotherapist in training under supervision (Psychotherapeut in Ausbildung unter Supervision) of Italian origin and a member of the Austrian Association for Gestalt-Theoretical Psychotherapy. Currently, I work both in private practice and as a psychotherapist for the organization Hemayat, which supports people with a migration background who have experienced traumatic events.

My Italian roots, my artistic background, and my life in an international context flow into my psychotherapeutic practice, enriching my therapeutic skills with a broad spectrum of experiences, knowledge, and approaches.

Education

In 2019, I began my training with the psychotherapeutic propaedeutic program at the VPA – Association for Psychosocial and Psychotherapeutic Education, Training, and Continuing Education. Subsequently, I specialized with the Austrian Association for Gestalt-Theoretical Psychotherapy (psychotherapeutisches Propädeutikum).

In 2024, I was granted the status of Psychotherapist in Training under Supervision, officially allowing me to practice psychotherapy under supervision.

In parallel, I have gained extensive practical experience in various psychosocial and clinical contexts over the past few years. These include:

  • Internships with the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund Austria, working with unaccompanied minor refugees with psychiatric disorders,

  • Internships in the acute psychiatry unit of the Donauspital in Vienna, and

  • Internships in the child and adolescent psychiatry department at the General Hospital of Vienna.

My initial professional career led me into the world of art. After training in dance, I worked as a stage dancer between 2005 and 2015 for various theater and dance companies in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Sweden. I deepened this experience in 2017 with a master’s degree in choreography and performative practices from the Stockholm University of the Arts. However, my commitment to humanity and my curiosity about psychological processes increasingly drew me toward psychotherapy.

The connection between art and psychotherapy shapes my approach as a therapist. I view the therapeutic space as a place of creative freedom (Metzger, 2022), where clients can feel safe and free to discover their potential and overcome obstacles.

At the core of Gestalt-Theoretical Psychotherapy lies the promotion of creativity and personal development (Walter, 1994). This approach helps to recognize inner barriers and strengthen the individual’s ability to self-regulate. My work is based on the belief that creative freedom is not limited to art but permeates all areas of life, enabling a fulfilling life and allowing individuals to face life’s challenges with resilience and foresight.

The combination of comprehensive psychotherapeutic training, practical experience, and an artistic background allows me to address the unique needs of my clients and create an atmosphere of trust, openness, and dialogue.

in training under supervision

Psychotherapists in training under supervision are prospective professionals who are at an advanced stage of their training and have been authorised by recognised institutions to carry out psychotherapeutic treatments. This authorisation confirms their professional competence based on the requirements of the supervision guidelines of the Federal Ministry of Health. As part of their training, they carry out practical activities under the guidance of experienced teaching therapists and reflect on these in supervision in order to ensure the quality of their work.

Psychotherapists in training under supervision offer several advantages for clients:

  • Lower rates: Their services are often cheaper than those of established psychotherapists, making it easier to access psychotherapy.

  • Regular supervision: Their work is continuously monitored by experienced therapists, which means additional quality assurance and expertise for clients.

  • State-of-the-art science: They work according to the latest scientific standards and methods, as their training is always based on the latest research.

Psychotherapists in training provide their services independently under close professional supervision and offer a quality of treatment that corresponds to the current state of scientific knowledge.
